The city is home to many art and cultural institutions, such as Ala Too Square and the National Historical Museum. Purchase freshest fruits, spices and handmade souvenirs at the Dordoy Bazaar. May tourists enjoy the culinary diversions, nightlife and arts scene of Kyrgyzstan's capital city and you may well be amazed by the various options this gateway has to offer.
First of all, I liked that it was not so hot over there (we visited Bishkek in July). There were a lot of cars during rush hour, especially around the center, it was almost impossible to drive. In general, the city is green, and has a typical Soviet architecture. In two days we managed to explore all the local museums and even visited the water park. I liked the National Museum. It is divided into several floors, and each floor has relics from different eras, from the primitive to the Soviet, with stunning bronze sculptural compositions. The museum’s souvenir shop sells beautiful leather items. I advise everyone, when traveling to Kyrgyzstan, to visit Bishkek for a couple of days. A nice friendly city, many should like it.
